Medical Leave ... Thanks, Doctors.

I'm a freshman at Upenn. My grades in my five classes so far are all A's, and I'm having a decent enough semester. However, I have a recurrent medical problem and I'm being advised to take a medical leave, possibly until NEXT fall.

How will this affect my chances at getting into a good graduate program after Penn? How will this look on my transcript (being that this is my first semester).

Please give constructive advice. Thank you.

you'll be fine, they won't care as long as you do come back and do well.

if you're sick, take the time off and get it taken care of. it's not worth fooling around with, and you'll be far better off coming back in good shape

ditto to the above...

plus, can't attend a good grad program if you aren't healthy!
