Taking ACT during SENIOR year

Can anyone tell me if colleges like the fact that I retook my ACT for a 3rd time this February and increased my score from a 28 to a 31? I'm waiting to hear back from three colleges and I propelled myself into the middle 50% ACT score for all those colleges by retaking the ACT again.

It’s a bit late, but I would still call each college to ask if sending an official score report would help your application.

Almost all colleges will have their decisions out by April 1st. No way it would do anything now. They probably wouldn’t even have time to receive the report for ACT and file it with the rest of your app. But I guess it wouldn’t hurt to call…

Some schools have a cutoff date for receiving scores…that seems fair. After all, it makes sense that a second semester senior would have a higher score than than a first semester senior.

I got them to all the colleges in time… my question is whether or not they will like the fact that I took them during the middle of my senior year again in order to improve. As in, the initiative and drive to improve…

I don’t think they will think about it quite that deeply. But it will help in the sense that they will consider your highest score and 31 is definitely better than 28.

I think it was a smart move. My son took it in the spring of his senior year and the school gave him more scholarship money, based on his higher score.
