I'm currently a junior and will hopefully be enrolled for APCS to do during the summer through virtual school. Any tips? Is it fun? :x Thanks. :)

APCS is a watered down version of a CS1 course, so if you like programming the class will be fun. This means the exam does not test anything in graphics, input/output. I took the exam this month and it just tests random things.

For the exam you can just use a Java textbook and Barron’s to prep.

Thanks. :D

Write your own programs in Java.

Check out the class Programming Methodology from Stanford on iTunes U. It isn’t too hard of a class, good luck.

Thanks for this!

Draxula: Programming Methodology from Stanford is amazing prep for AP CS between that and the Barron’s book I got a 5 a few years back without at class. I would incourage you to also just look around on iTunes U because there are many useful classes and very interesting ones. I taught myself machine learning and computer vision from iTunes U and youtube. Also try to solve some project Euler problems. Great prep for solving difficult programming problems.
Good luck! You’ll have a fun time. Just stay on top of your assignment, as it can be easy to get behind when you dont have a teacher there to tell you

Thanks guys! I’m starting the class next week! :)

I would also agree with recommending Barron’s Ap Comp.
