I am an IB diploma candidate, and I was wondering which AP exams I could match up with my schedule for Junior year. I want to have some scores to show colleges, since I won't get my IB exam scores until late Senior year.

IB History I - possibly AP Euro History?
IB English I- possibly AP English?
IB SL Econ- Macro or Micro Econ? Both?
IB Physics I- AP Physics? Which one, if so?

I will be taking History II, English II, and Physics II in senior year, however, I won't have the option of taking the exams then. Will the Level One courses prepare me sufficiently if I buy a review book in the beginning of the year and study with them alongside my IB classes? But I do want to avoid overloading myself during Junior year. Thank you!

maya, Seniors at my school tell me that it's best to take AP Euro History right after IB History (as the material stays fresh).

Good Luck.

I'd like to know the answer to the question(s) too.

I looked up some info about the IB History/AP EH classes.

IB History I is 1450-1900 European History, and IB History II is 1900-present day. The exam covers 1450-present day. I'm not sure how in-depth the AP is, though. It may just be a couple weeks of self-study to get up to speed, so I'll ask around.

And from looking at the CB website, it seems that AP English Lang and AP English Lit are exams where you don't necessarily have to take the class- you just have to have a good, strong English foundation and be able to write well. (Feel free to chime in, anyone?)

I'm still curious about the others, though.

People at my school take AP Macro at the end of their IB Econ SL course. I've heard that you have to do a bit of self studying to cover material in the AP curriculum that's not in the IB one.
