I heard that when you’re at BU, you can enroll in classes at MIT/Harvard. Is this true? If it is, how is it possible?

If not through BU, you can take classes through Harvard Extention.

Unless it is through as specific BU program (which there may be for certain programs, I'm just not aware of any), you cannot take classes at Harvard or MIT and then transfer them to BU for credit (for instance, you can't take a class at MIT during the summer to get a requirement out of the way).

I think you can, there's a program in place among Boston univs (BC, BU, Tufts, Harvard etc..) where you can take classes at other universities and get credit for it.

BU's general policy is that you're not allowed to receive credit for any work done outside of BU at a school located within the greater Boston area if the class is offered by BU.

According to the following link, ENG does not accept Harvard Extension courses. Other schools most likely have the same policy:

Essentially, unless you can find something about a specific program that is specific to your major/program, I would assume that you cannot take classes elsewhere.
