So, say I'm a business major in the Marshall School. What opportunity do I have to take courses from other "schools"-meaning College of arts and sciences and the other professional schools.... like... fill in the blank for me: I am excited to choose from a wide range of courses from USCs ____ other undergraduate schools. (or should i say 16 other professional schools and the renowned college of arts and sciences...) HELP? WORDING!

LAS should be no problem, since you have to take your GE's with them. I don't really know about the other schools.

Cinema-TV offers a lot of non-major courses that you can choose from. Screenwriting and critical studies for sure, I'm not positive that you can take production classes, but you can definitely choose to take classes in Cinema-TV without ever applying or being a major. You are limited as to the variety offered to non-majors, just as you are in pretty much anything that is offered to non-majors, but it is something to consider.

Are you looking for wording to put on an application? What do you need help with wording?

To answer your question, though, there are definitely courses open for all majors under each school. Sometimes you just have to get department clearance, but that's easy enough, unless you want a really high-demand course. If you were going into the business school, however, you will have little free space to take an extra course. Classes for the major and then GEs take up most of your four years, unless you choose to take five years then you would have some extra time. Of course, GEs would offer the chance to take courses in other departments.

Another thing to mention in an application is USC's breadth with depth philosophy, where they want you to take some really different courses. They even offer the rennaisance scholarship for people who major/minor in very different subjects.
