Taking HAAS Prerequisites At CC To Save GPA?

To my understanding, HAAS calculates its applicant's GPAs using only prerequisite courses. I was planning to take a statistics online course at a community college this summer, before I officially enter berkeley. This course would serve as a prerequisite course and satisfy HAAS's statistics requirement. Of course, this class would be an easy "A", and would save me the stress of competing with other HAAS candidates in the stats classes at berkeley. But would the grade of this transferable, prerequisite course, be eve factored in my official HAAS gpa? I couldn't find the answer on the site.

Are prerequisites taken at community colleges before entrance into Berkeley factored into HAAS's GPA calculation?

To make sure you don’t waste your time, I’d call the Haas undergraduate advisers and ask them if (1) you can get rid of any of the pre-requisite requirements by taking the equivalent class at a community college this summer and (2) if that grade will count toward your GPA. Given that, here are my thoughts to get you on the right track:

(1) Once you start at Berkeley, you need to fulfill any remaining (i.e. after AP, high school dual enrollment courses, etc.) pre-requisites at Berkeley. I don’t know if Haas considers you “at Berkeley” beginning in the fall of your freshman year or also during the summer before your freshman year.

(2) I’m almost positive that, if you DO get the pre-requisite fulfilled with the community college statistics, it will not count in your UC GPA but it may count toward your pre-requisite GPA for Haas (since the Haas app asks you to indicate your grade in any community college classes used to complete Haas pre-requisites). However, I’d ask about this too.

If you aren’t able to fulfill the requirement at the community college, I’d just be sure to evenly space out your pre-requisites, as this will really help you focus on each of them semester by semester as well as minimize the potential damage of a single (academically) bad semester.

you can fulfill your statistics requirement but it will not factor into your Berkeley GPA. but yeah like stated above, you should check if the class that youre taking at the CC is accepted by Haas or not.
