So right now, I'm a Junior taking IB Chemistry SL as part of the IB course load. (I'm hopefully getting the Diploma.)

I was considering taking the AP Chemistry exam at the end of this year on top of the IB Chemistry.

I was wondering, have any of you guys taken both classes or both exams? How comparable are the two curriculums? I'm doing well in IB Chemistry at the moment and I was wondering if the two exams are quite similar.

I would assume so, since they are both about many of the general aspects of Chemistry. I believe that AP Chem is said to consist a lot more history and random facts than IB, so that may be a bit of an issue when studying for it.

So, would you have any advice or suggestions? Should I take the AP exam also? How would you suggest me to self-study the parts of the AP Chem curriculum that IB Chem doesn't cover?

Thanks again.
