Taking IB exams AND AP tests?

This have been brought up from several threads I see and I just wanted to clarify that you can do so.

Yes .

If you take AP Classes can you take IB exams? I heard you couldn't ,but you can take IB classes and take AP exams.

Recent IB Graduate

Yes, you can take IB Exams and AP tests. I know that my teachers encouraged it because if one score from one test did not get you credit then there was the possibility that the corresponding test could.

I took IB exams(I was going for the Diploma) and was able to take AP tests, but I don't think it would work the other way around. IB tests can and sometimes cover different material. Also...if I remember correctly you have to sign up for an IB class to take the exam, that is due to the fact that classes will have an internal assessment which students must complete since it is a factor in the final grade.

IB isnt just just exam, its a program and the program have requirments other than the exam. onli participation in the program (whether its certificate or diploma) will enable you to take the exam.

AP.. never required your to take the class in order to register for the exam. you can take register for the exam w/o ever touching the AP material .. although i wouldnt garantee your mark.

yes I took both IB an AP exams, you may take both as long as there's no schedule conflict (since both sets of exam occur at early-mid may) IB has no late test date unlike AP, so you better hope the late test dates dont conflict if the previous one does.
