Taking Math 1A AFTER Math1B?

Hey I was wondering if I would get both GPA credit and course credit for taking Math1A after passing my Math1B (with a C+) my first semester?

I keep getting different answers from different advisors....so I was wondering if anyone here did the same thing or know anything about this...

Basically, I heard that I might get course credit...but not GPA credit ==> so my GPA won't be affected...

Please inform me!

Thanks in advance!

I hope I get GPA credit. I have to retake Math1A for that very reason. (Taking 1B now)

I think you get no units... if i remember correctly.. thus not counting towards your gpa.

If you look in the general catalog & Math Dept website it states: "Credit option: Students will receive no credit for 1A after taking 16B and 2 units after taking 16A."

There's no mention about restrictions on units if you take 1a after 1b.

You get no units. Same thing for r1a after r1b, it cannot be done for units or credits (my friend tried it).

But I believe med schools will count it in their gpa. am i correct?

i emailed the math dept chair and she said that you still get units.

The undergrad advisor said that you still get units but not Grade points so it doesn't affect gpa. A friend of mine asked the math department but hasn't got an answer yet.

Do you happen to know who I'm supposed to talk to/where I'm supposed to go to talk about this stuff in the math department?

If i remember its on the 9th floor of evans. The math department office is there and if you ask for the math advisor they should point you to one of the advisors room.

I think when u exit the elevator, go right, then left, and look at the doors some of them shuld say math advisor.
