Taking Online Classes?

Hi there!

I’m a California student going into my junior year of high school. As a sophomore, I dropped out of my high school Geometry class as my teacher was significantly incompatible with my learning style (as well as many others in the class). Since having such a favorable experience taking online Geometry with BYU Independent Study, I’m interested in further continuing online math for Algebra 2 during my junior year. Does taking online classes have any hindrance or concern for college admissions of any type of school (UCs, privates, publics, etc.)? In other words, when applying, will universities feel less inclined to admit a student who has taken more than one online class (specifically for one subject in particular like math)?

Please let me know of any insight you may have on this subject.

Thank you!

The only issue will be that you will be unable to get a reference letter from a math teacher. Otherwise, colleges won’t care.
