Taking SAT without Studying (as a trial)

Hi. I'm a junior. I know that the PSAT is meant to act as a practice for the SAT, but it's obviously not the real SAT and doesn't include the essay. Is it worth it to take the SAT now just to see how well I'd do without studying at all? Are there any disadvantages to this despite the existence of score choice?

Thank you :)

At least familiarize yourself with the allotted time for each section and the question types.

Why would you waste 60 dollars like that?
Just study for it so you don’t end up regretting.

Some schools like Stanford don’t honor the score choice system. They require every SAT score, so if you get like a 1300, you’re royally screwed. The best thing to do is to do what PunJabX said. Do some practice tests under time pressure to see how well you do.

WHY?! In addition to wasting money, your one abysmal score can affect you greatly in the college admission process. Many schools don’t allow score choice, an example being Harvard! Don’t do it. Practice! Take the test when you are thoroughly prepared.

^ Harvard allows score choice.

I think you would benefit from a practice test in the Blue Book just as much. It’s good to have a foundation score, but I just think you’d regret it in the long run when you apply to schools that require that you send in all scores.

Kaplan runs a bunch of free tests under “real” conditions. I know it’s not College Board, but it’s still practice. I just took one and it really showed me what I need to work on. Try to find one in your area if possible.

I did Kaplan’s for SAT II Chemistry and they sucked… 740 ■■■

How do i know which schools accept superscore?
