I scored a 36 on the June ACT, which apparently translates to a 2400 on the SAT. However, I am not sure what to do about the SAT. Assuming the SAT and ACT are actually viewed equally by colleges (another point I am unsure of), I shouldn't have to take the SAT anymore. But getting a National Merit Scholarship requires an SAT. So my question is this: will scoring a less-than-perfect score on the SAT for NMF "dilute" my perfect ACT score?

bump…

I don’t think you are required to send in your SAT if you choose to send ACT scores instead.

I thought you had to list all of your test scores on CommonApp?

You don’t need to submit the SAT score. For Nation Merit, you can take the SAT1 for verification any time before December. If you take it in December, you probably won’t have a chance to report it in CommonApp for most schools even if you want to. After all, you don’t need to worry as most schools would look at the better of the 2 test scores anyway.
