I get 40/40 on the multiple choice, then on the essay portion of the test she gives me 5/35 on my essay. She's out to fail me. I know for a fact there is no way my essay would get me less than 50% but apparently she just wants to fail me. Additionally she even writes on my test "AP Conversion = 3". Funny how an AP conversion of a 3 accordiing to her means I'm failling her class. Seriously ***. There is no way I'm going to even get a B in her class now. Oh, the class is AP Econ btw.

Well, if you convert the AP scale to a 100 point scale, then a 3 gets you a 60. Thats how you fail a class while getting a passing grade on the AP exam.

That's ridiculous though. Getting a 3 on AP Exam should merit a C. Not an E

Maybe you should talk with her after school about that incredibly low essay score. What did other people get on their essays? How does yours compare to theirs?

Besides the essay, what makes you think she's out to fail you?

She complains to my parents that I don't pay attention in class after I get the highest grade on her test. She accepts late-work from other students but doesn't from me. One day I leave my backpack in her room and tell her I need a lunch pass and I'm coming back to her room to get it. I go back during lunch and the door is locked (but I need my backpack from it), so I knock on the door. Then nobody answers so I figure she's not there. So I get a custodian to help me open, he does, and she's in there. She's like "What are you doing?" and I explain myself, and all she says "there was a reason why I didn't watch". In my opinion she was merely watching CNN and refused to be bothered during her lunch hour

Oh the avg grade on essay was around the same (and same with overall test score)

Well, if a lot of other people got the same essay score, then that doesn't seem to be a strong indicator that she's out to get you.

I think the strongest complaint you have against her is that she doesn't accept late work from you while she does accept late work for other students. But still. It doesn't seem like there's much you can do about it, except to not turn your work in late again.

She's probably not "out to get me". She just dislikes me and currently I'm a bit mad so I'm overextrating :P. Excuse me lol

This is just a side story that has almost nothing to do with the op's story but I really feel like telling someone this.

Last year I had a male teacher who always graded guys papers higher than girls. The same as the op's teacher really. If a girl got all teh multiple choice right, she could still get a B or C because of his scoring on her essays. We decided to prove this one day so two of my friends that were freshman, one guy and one girl were our bait. They both had the same extremely large packet to complete which was filled with fill in the blank and essay questions only. The girl did all the work and then the guy copied the packet word for word in pencil (the teachers policy was that if anyone wrote the homework in pencil, you would automatically get an f on that assignment). Well, when they got back the packets, she got a C whereas he got an A. We would have reported it to the administration but of course, we didn't want the two freshman to get kicked out for cheating.

Zkevin - I hope things work out for you in that class. I know that sometimes, when I haven't done well, I tend to automatically jump to the conclusion that the teacher must hate me. xP But then I get over it.

karen61990 - It's funny (though not in a good way). I always hear that male teachers give higher grades to female students. It sucks about this teacher, though. Hasn't anyone else managed to catch his unfair grading policy in action?

yeah, for me the female teachers love me and give me great grades...the old lady teachers especially but the male teachers are like...ehh

One of my teachers is really stupid and she just gives out grades on how well she knows the students. So the stupid people who talk a lot in class get A's while the more quiet (more smart) people get B's or lower.

^

I have a teacher like that. I'm one of those who talk a lot, so I really don't care haha.

That's why the VERY smart kids learn to adapt, virtuoso. ;)
