If I got chosen as an alternative for the Texas Academy of Math and Science (TAMS), do I still have a chance?

Hey current Tamster here, getting move from the wait list is pretty rare. I only know about 2 to 3 people that got off it. I would say your chances are slim.

I really want to get into TAMS. Im in 8th grade and am soon going to be in 9th. What should i do to definitely get in?
