Tardies

Anybody know what kind of adverse effects a huge number of tardies have on admissions decisions?

My school is such a POS, my homeroom is on the other side of the f*ing school and as a result, I’m always late by about 5 seconds. The teacher is a dick and always marks me tardy. Getting up in the morning is the most difficult thing for me.

If my homeroom wasn’t in the boondocks of the school, I would be there on time every day. It ****es me off to no end.

if u are a tard you won't get into any good schools ;)

...if ur late 5 seconds, then set ur alarm to 1 minute earlier.

but it really shouldn't matter that much...

The only possible way I imagine this affecting your admission chances is if you ask the teacher who is a "dick" to write you a rec letter!

Hahahaa, i didn't think tardiness played that much of a role in college admissions, just curious I guess. Well, the alarm thing wouldn't work since my alarm goes off at 7:15 (school starts at ~7:35). I usually hit the "off" button when the alarm goes off, then i go back to sleep, then i awake to my parents yelling at me at around 7:25. I leave the house at 7:27. Make it to school and I am like 15 feet away from the homeroom door and the goddamn bell rings. (You may say, "oh just run to homeroom as soon as you get into the building" in actuality, I DO RUN!!! hahahahahahaha). I have on the excess of 9 tardies so far this year. Last year I only had about 4 the whole year. This year has been a pain because of a newly formed habbit--procrastination, thus I get to sleep later and I am unable to get up at the correct time.

However, I am desperately trying to break the procrastination habbit. The only good thing about this year vs. last year though is that although I have on the average of 2-3 hours of sleep, I have a 3.6 GPA. Freshman-Junior year, I had like 6 hours of sleep and a measly 3.3 GPA. My class schedule this year (senior year) isn't easy either, so why my GPA is higher is beyond me. Statistically, it should be dropping, but hey, I'm not complaining!!!

Note: my alarm cross is across the room (so i have to get out of bed to turn it off, then i go back to bed).

They should make an alarm clock that IS the bed....that way it wakes you up by vibrating the bed or something, then after 1 minute (if the weight sensors in the bed do not sense that you're off of it), it launches the mattress across the room or something.

...on another note, I highly recommend Sam's Club's Croissants.

You have to get out of bed to turn it off and you still can't get up?

Lol...

And agreed on the croissants.

Sad, isn't it! The key in my case is to just stop procrastinating. Do my homework as soon as I get home from school (instead of 12am) that way I can be in bed by 11 or 12. I usually come home and take a 2-3 hour nap, so as you can tell, my sleep habbits are TERRIBLE. Heh, I suppose it could be preparation for the lack of sleep in college.

SnP2K, don't feel bad, I have the same problem with my alarm. You'd think having it on the otherside of the room, and having to get out of bed would work, but I somehow always find myself back under the covers after turning it off.
