Tasfa

I was just wondering if any1 is applying for TASFA and when the 2009-2010 form is available?

What is tasfa?do you mean fafsa

I think it will be available tomorrow. I will be applying most definitely.

TASFA=Texas Application for State Financial Aid

reloaded,

So TASFA is the application we use if we are not a US citizen/permanent resident? Do we need to any FAFSA things? I'm a bit confused about this whole process

Luke, If u are a citizen (or if u were born here), u do FASFA, but if u are not a citizen (like me) BUT u ARE a Texas resident, u do TASFA. I am not a citizen....I've applied for citizenship (haven't gotten it yet), but I am a Texas resident. So I do TASFA.
Hope this clears sum stuff up.

reloaded, you can do the fafsa if you have a permanent resident card.
it sounded like you didn't know that, so just saying fyi, it might help

^ Actually, that's what I thought, too. Don't you need a permanent resident card to apply for citizenship in the first place?

I'm not a citizen/permanent resident, but I am a Texas resident. So I guess I will also use TASFA. Where do we get the TASFA form? On the FASFA website or the university website.

my bad guys, ur right...not citizenship....permanent resident. getting myself confused.
and u get the TASFA form @ collegefortexans.com or sumthing but I looked up there and the new one isn't there as of right now.....idk when that will be available.

you can also just fill out the paper version of fafsa and send it to the school too.

the 2009-2010 tasfa form can be found here

http://www.aie.org/State/TASFA/TASFA_English_0910.pdf

i don't know if that's a legitimate 09-10 tasfa
one, it's not on the usual collegefortexas.com website
on that website, the 09-10 application is not even available
also, from the tamu page, when i click on tasfa, it's still taking me to the 08-09 tasfa
the website look a little fishy
so b careful

thats wat I was thinking 2 but it seems so legit.

wait people. I'm still confused
so if I'm a permanent resident, do I apply to FAFSA or TASFA or BOTH?

apply for FASFA

if you're a permanent resident or citizen, fafsa
if not, tasfa or paper fafsa or w/e your college says you can do
you never do both tasfa and fafsa, unless maybe if you do your tasfa then become eligible for fafsa later, then possibly

haha ok that makes so much more sense.
Thank you!

Tasfa is availible right now it is only for TEXAS residents. If you are a U.S. citizen then you apply for FASFA, you cannot apply for both.
If you are looking for TASFA then go here: use the 2009-2010 form
