wowww im gone for a couple days and you guys go nuts on this thread, haha

im almost done with my application, im happy :]

i must say that this essay-writing has greatly helped me; i feel better prepared for college apps already =P

corey you are so funny xD

thx to tasp-ers for answering questions on the forum

i need to study for finals pretty badly...
it's times like these when it gets a tad bit hard to maintain the whole "I STUDY B/C I LOVE EDUCATION!! NOT FOR POINTS!!" when all the teachers and students alike are going nutty about grades XD

photos are optional and trust me, a normal one will not get you automatically rejected. I know this from experience. I also know that they considered getting rid of the photo part to make sure that it has no effect on admission, which I think is a good idea.

Er...this is a silly question, but what do they mean by "community activities" under Family Information? Can we just leave it blank if not applicable?

Some questions about periodicals for the book list:

-is it entirely shameful to list pop culture magazines like seventeen? I mean, i know its not the most sophisticated reading material out there, but we are kids aren't we?

-and, how about listing other periodicals like time and newsweek. I read a good portion of the magazine but I dont read every single article. I know that sometimes the booklists are discussed in the interview, and I'm not sure I would be able to carry a conversation about an article from an issue last february (though I could easily talk about a book I read last february). Opinions anyone?

periodicals are fine. and no, they don't expect you to recall something you read half a year ago from time. pop culture magazines are fine too. i put in a good number of "filler books" i read (mainstream literature) that are certainly not what you would consider sophisticated reading material.

ok, so application assembly question: do we need copies of each of our essays as well? Because I thought we did and I just printed three copies of all my essays but I reread the directions and it seems like we need copies of only the two page form. I'm so bad at this. Assembling the application is like the hardest part for me! Does anyone know the right way to do it?

I thought it sounded like they wanted copies of the essays as well. So it's one original set (app + essays) and two copied sets (app + essays). And then they say to keep one set for yourself. rolls eyes I had been planning on erasing every evidence of those essays I slaved away on...

Good LORD. I leave for 4 hours for rehearsal and this thing goes crazy.

I wonder if the readers subconsciously make a judgement based on the picture...I bet they do. Hot damn, good thing I'm attractive! Lawl! Totally kidding.

me: fix up rankings, booklist
