@musicpen @Ozymandeos if it brings you all any comfort, there’s this girl that I have a few mutual friends with that attended TASP, and she read over my essays (after they were sent in) and she bluntly admitted that she did not like my critical analysis essay…LOL so you’re not alone.
@tasphopeful I am actually so down for that haha I’d totally help you start it. I’m really bummed there aren’t more programs like TASP out there

A writing instructor I know, after I had mine turned in, said that my critical analysis was horrible compared to the others. 
He did say that he thinks I have a good chance with the others though…so who knows?

been obsessively checking this page for the past four days so i figured i might as well make an account lol-- how do you guys feel about your conflict essays? re-reading mine i feel like the section about what i learned sounded so contrived
(decided to stop lurking and get an account) i’m an international student, and I haven’t received an acceptance or rejection 
@orwell1864, you sure all the international emails are out? do they send international emails in batches? or do they only send acceptance emails… ARGH
@claraoswald not to worry! i’m an international too and i haven’t heard a peep from TASP. i think the internationals come out in batches just like the US. it’s frustrating to have to wait, but at least there’s still hope.

@warriorophelia totally agree about the contrived conflict essay thing!! i thought that was my weakest essay… the conflict i described just seemed so dumb in retrospect oh well hopefully our other essays will pull through??
That thing about starting our own TASP… yes… that’s really just what I want to do, read and discuss ideas… it’s just so hard, almost impossible, to find peers who care enough and are dedicated.
No matter what happens, I think we were all qualified and we all tried our best so don’t belittle yourselves! (or I guess ourselves but that sounded awks lolz). Remember that TASP doesn’t determine whether or not we get into the college of our dreams! Believe me, I’ve bugged my counselor about the supposed importance of selective summer programs dozens of times and he said all they do is help narrow your interests for your future career. Just stay positive! (And I’ll try to too 
)
Hm. It’s interesting that someone from Hawaii got an email today. I also am from Hawaii and have yet to receive an email. Oh wells, I’m on board for this make-our-own-TASP program hehe:-) Too many programs out there are faux scholastic programs and are actually filled with duds…
^^ You find their notification process “interesting”?
I have MUCH harsher words for this RIDICULOUS notification process!! In fact, I would go so far as to say it is CRUEL as it introduces an incredible amount of unnecessary anxiety. I can only imagine how often some of you are checking your email.
Frankly, makes me concerned that the summer session itself may be run this haphazardly.
ditto @RoomNacht . The batches thing is absolutely ridiculous. There should be a set day and a set time. It’s not that hard to send 200 identical e-mails. If Forever21 can send millions at the same time everyday, TASP can do it once a year.
Well the process assumes that youre not contacting other TASPers, (which the website ask), and I’m sure that extends to prospective TASPers. So really they don’t figure you should know about it all. And it’s a free program set up by people that have jobs the rest of the year, too, so let’s not get all excited, my friends.

stalking the previous year’s boards and it looks like they got their acceptance emails around 2 PM EST. hopefully later today or tomorrow we’ll know!!
