When a college requests tax forms for finaid a few weeks before your supposed to get your decision, does that mean you're likely to be accepted?

bump..i have the same question exactly.

I think any extra attention at this stage is a good thing. But, that's truly just my opinion.

well i know for the school im applying they want the tax forms and financial aid filled out from everyone so that they can mail your financial aid offer with your acceptance letter, if you get one.

so for my choice school its not a good thing or a bad thing

Makes sense.

The college our D applied ED to called a few days before decision time and asked for more tax returns. She was deferred, and the admissions office said the tax returns were a factor. I read a few days ago in one of the threads the Oberlin admin explain how the applicant's finances affect admissions:

The school I am applying to is need blind (while Oberlin, mentioned in the article, is not) and also has a large endowment. And financial aid comes about a week after decisions. So I was confused about what the letter from finaid meant.
