Hello all , some great info here . I have a question. I receive a tax free disability pension( my only income) and was wondering where and if it has to be included on the fafsa for my D. Looks like it would be put on at question 85, but I just wanted to check. Thanks for any insight.

to be verified. I have a partially taxable small disability pension, non taxable ss and non taxable wc income and child got nontaxable ss. with offsets, ending the year started college. The first time I filled out the FASFA it took me about 6 calls to find out where everything went and it turned out it was unneccessary. It got easier after child’s ss ended. Fin aid office was scratching head when I brought it into them the one year.
Basically I can tell you this, as I do not have the forms in front of me and have not started taxes and fasfa yet this year. Most of the income lines, you will not need to even fill out as your taxable income and what would be adjusted gross income would be well below the necessary amount to negate the need to fill out most of the form. I personally, especially from experience, would tell you not to go terribly crazy with the worksheets, as you will not be using them when you fill out the form. After you put in 0 for the AGI, you will be told that you do not need to fill out the rest of the $$ lines, but that if you wish to you can. Don’t even bother. Just go to the next line they direct you to and finish it up.
You will probably be verified by the college no matter what you do and all the extra info you put down. This is just a minor inconvience, but one that must be completed ASAP when the college notifies you that the application has been selected for verification.
You may be luckier than I in that you are only looking at one source of income, which is non-taxable.
