Cornell is requesting taxes filed and w2's for 2012 due by Feb 15. We still have documents coming in that we list when we file. Will we lose financial aid if we submit it after Feb 15 deadline? We can probably complete by end of Feb. IDOC for other colleges are due by March 1 which is doable.

Ask Cornell.

And, worst case scenario, file now, amend later.

There is no chance I could file my taxes by February 15th, hell I can barely get them done by April 15th.

Apparently the administrators at Cornell do not exist in the real world…shocking.

Have just spoken with someone in the financial aid office at Cornell and was advised that failure to submit tax documents by February 15 will merely delay, not prevent, issuance of a financial aid award.

So, if you want to be able to compare offers, delayed submission of tax documents could be a problem . . . but it it won’t impact the student’s eligibility for aid.

This is not just Cornell. FA for fr admits is always early, with D1, I had several schools with Feb 1 deadlines.
