As may 1st is approaching, I am starting to freak out a little more. I recently read about an eof program that tcnj has, and realized that I’m technically eligible due to my family’s income. I sadly applied regular decision and not for the eof program. I was accepted as a nursing major, however, I received absolutely no merit. My financial aid comes to around 5,500 dollars in loans. TCNJ is currently my number one choice, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to afford it. Does anyone know if I’ll be able to email or call TCNJ to see if they can switch me into the eof program?? please help me!! For those who don’t know …EOF stands for educational opportunity fund… its a program that gives help to students with financial or educational disadvantaged backgrounds.
There are a few additional qualifiers for EOF. Typically you have to be first generation (i.e. parents don’t have college degree). I believe you also have to have test scores below a certain level.
If your income is low aren’t you also getting Pell and NJ Tag Grants?
^ That was my question, too. A student who qualified for EOF ought to be eligible for Pell and TAG as well, I would suppose.
@NJRoadie sorry for the late reply. However, I don’t even know if I have received pell and nj tag grants. I don’t think I got them. Do I apply, or do they tell me I qualify. Also, both my parents have college degrees
@garland I’m really late to finding out about all of these things. I hope it isn’t too late. both of my parents have college degrees
What is your FAFSA EFC? You should be able to see if you are Pell eligible.
You would have had to apply to EOF when you filled out your application
Here are the income guidelines
Do you meet the income guidelines for the number of people in your household.
Remember, that not everyone who is financially eligible will be admitted into the program
@sybbie719 I come from a household of 5, and I know my parents said we make less than that amount. My EFC is 25,000 plus, I don’t really remember the exact amount
If your EFC is$25,000 you will not be eligible for EOF.
For a family of 5 your household income has to be less than $56,820
