@MACmiracle Thank you! Yes, he does. Montclair, Ramapo or Rowan!
@Sally50 Maybe we’ll see you at Rowan.
No definite decision is made but I think D is leaning toward Rowan. At first the merit was the draw but even without the merit, Rowan offers amazing facilities and a great honors program.
AHHHHH I GOT IN
@sunflowerchick me too! Congrats!
omg I apologize to the class of 2022 for taking over your feed
@NightCheese5119 congrats!!! @makeoutings did you get your letter today?
I have decided I won’t be taking my spot on the waitlist, because waitlisted people don’t get merit aid if accepted and that would make TCNJ much more expensive than Rutgers.
Congratulations to @sunflowerchick and @NightCheese5119 !
@MACmiracle thank you!!!
@MACmiracle best of luck to your daughter!
@acceptme2022 I’m sure you are going to do wonderfully at Rutgers. I’m an alumnus and although I sometimes complain about the bus situation, I really had good opportunities at Rutgers, academically and through the job I got on campus. I was never bored!
I have been becoming more grateful for my Rutgers opportunities and recently made a donation when I got called to support a scholarship fund, because I now realize how much I benefited from the scholarships I got that enabled me to get through debt free!
I wish you well!
@sunflowerchick Thank you. This has been a stressful process for her and she gets more stressed if I talk about college too much, so I like being able to come here and hear how other families are doing.
Thank you all. Has anybody’s paws account updated? I’m trying to accept my acceptance, but my paws is not updated
Deciding if TCNJ is worth the extra money over Rowan too. It’s a tough decision.
It is worth it. In the end you will most likely live off campus after your sophomore year and that is much less expensive .
@lexxy03
What is the difference in the cost? (and don’t forget to multiply that difference by 4 years)
Is there something that TCNJ has, whether it be coursework or specific professor, that Rowan does not have?
Is the cost difference going to translate into more debt? I think that is something to most seriously consider - in other words look at the payments you would be making for 10 years after you graduate.
Living off campus may or may not be less expensive. In my experience I found it to be about the same, because you had to pay for 12 months (but that may not be the case now )
Best of luck - you have great choices to make!
I personally can’t make up my mind to whether go for TCNJ or NJIT for Biomedical engineering. I have heard the education is better at TCNJ, classes are small and you can get better value for your money. However, engineering is NJIT’s specialty. Any advice??
$400.00 a month for 12 months off campus.
But you must have a car, pay car insurance, maintenance, gas, parking fees. You need to furnish an apartment, cook for yourself etc. None of that is free.
There are many many off campus homes walking distance to school you don’t pay parking fees if you have a house . $4800.00 is roughly half the price of on campus housing. Bring a car if you want or Uber. By the time you are a Junior you will hopefully have an internship or clinicals or student teaching what ever your course of study is and that will be off campus so you will need to figure on some type of transportation. I have been paying the bills for the last 3 years and off campus is much less expensive.
