Looks like they're starting to put RD decisions up on the portal. Son just discovered he was admitted to Engineering. Very nice.

Nothing about scholarships on the portal, though I've noticed that the colleges that use PeopleSoft rarely put merit aid up there. I wonder when that will be announced? Will that come in the acceptance letter, which I assume is already in the mail?

^Thanks! The envelope arrived today. My son just opened it an yelled out “$12,000 scholarship” When I replied that TCNJ doesn’t typically offer in-state merit that high, he read further and found out that it’s $3,000 per year over four years. Either way, it’s all good, and TCNJ is now definitely on the short list.

^ ACT 34, GPA 3.97 (W), 3 APs completed, 4 in progress, HS does not rank, but since TCNJ does ask the counselor, he’s probably in the top 15-20% in one of the top public HS in NJ

Got my letter in the mail today! Accepted for business, with 8,000 a year scholarship! Im out of state (NY) and ACT 29, 94 GPA, 6 AP’s, lots of ec’s and volunteering. Very excited!

It stated that I received a 32,000 scholarship and stated it meant 8,000 a year. And it gave me an application to apply and increase my scholarship amount to at most 10,000 a year.

Nikoru, I thought out of state scholarships were not determined until later. So you received your acceptance AND scholarship notification in one letter?

@Emily0722 My letter said “Typically, all admitted out-of-state students are required to submit a scholarship application if they want to be consdered for a merit award, but your academic performance to date caused us to make you an initial scholarship offer right away.” And I applied early November, and it said that if you applied by December 1st, you get priority scholarship considerations.

Just curious if in state accepted students were also informed of scholarships with admit letter? Thrilled my child is accepted but would love to know if any merit still possible…I thought that you heard with decison. Thanks

Yes I am an in state student and my letter told me I would be awarded a $28,000 scholarship over 4 years and was also accepted into the honors college!

Thanks very much for responding Nikoru. If you don’t mind me asking, what were your credentials? My son is a NMSF (well, was a semi-finalist at the time he was applying) and he applied ED but he had to submit the paperwork for the out-of-state scholarship.
Curious how they determine the amount of the award.
