I’ve been thinking about the tuition increase and I do think it will be not an insignificant factor in our decision. We are full pay and are chasing merit, and that kind of increase is just a hole that would need to be filled. On the back end of a billion dollar fundraising campaign just makes it worse. D24’s graduate school may or may not be funded, so we are trying to keep costs down on undergrad.
TCU was already in last place out of the six schools to which D24 applied. The scholarship offer would have to be significant. I don’t find their honors program to be that great compared to the others we have looked at. Perhaps their merit scholarships are going up by the same amount, but I guess I don’t know why I would think they wouldn’t do a similar tuition increase in future years.
TCU is a great school! I just am doubtful that the value will be there for us.

TCU says in website by Jan 1, but I think holidays and should be last Friday before Christmas , so I guess Dec 22 (last year Dec 3).
Same situation for us laceltris. Full pay also chasing merit but this is causing us to think twice for sure as we will have to empty D24’s 529 (and then some) and there wouldn’t be anything left for graduate/professional school. That is fine, but thinking through value here.

You have said that repeatedly, but they have said the same for many years and then released it on a different schedule.
We are all aware of what the website says, but it has historically not been indicative of the actual release date.

Looking at posts from the past, ED has typically been the first Friday in December despite what the website says. Praying it’s this Friday!

I was wondering the same- we are EA so a longer wait but it seems to be a week or so after ED.

I haven’t seen anything on their social media. I am penciling in December 15 for EA notifications.

ED Decisions will be released tomorrow (12/1) starting at 5 PM and EA Decisions will be released Thursday, December 14th starting at 5 PM.

I see and yes you do! Any sense of how many ED apps they got this year? I heard overall they thought they would be up 45-50%!
Did an admissions session not too long ago and they said overall expected to be at 30k applications which is about 50% up from last year. So the admissions rate is going to be 30-33% I would guess.
Holy Cow!! Was this one of the FB Live sessions? If so, will go back and listen to the recordings. I thought the population was shrinking…where are all the applications coming from? If it’s the same high stat kids dropping apps everywhere then all these school might be in a crunch come May right?
I think it is kids applying to more schools. Yield predictions are going to be really hard when you have kids applying to more and more schools…
