TCU Political Atmosphere

Just curious--I recently got accepted into TCU and was wondering if there was a strong political leaning on campus. I lean to the left a bit but prefer to stay in the middle. I was curious if the campus leans in any direction and if there is a large sense of activism within the student body.

As of this afternoon, the Athletic Dept. has a significantly Eastern lean. :)

The fact that TCU is in the state of Texas, that many of the students are from wealthy-ish families and that greek life is big there…it leans pretty much to the right.

Is the student body active in politics or pretty apathetic?

Have heard its a fun place where the activism leans towards finding a keg (Christian school, go figure). You probably need to be in a more cosmopolitan place if you’re at all concerned about politics as opposed to partying.

My guess it is pretty conservative politically but we are from CA too… and schools here lean very left. With TCU being in Fort Worth and only miles from Dallas, I think it is fairly cosmopolitan. Dallas is VERY sophisticated.

There are 7800 undergrads at TCU. There are 11 social fraternities and 10 sororities.
That’s a pretty big greek presence given the size of the student body.
From what I’ve heard about the greeks at my kids’ big state u’s, politics is not a main topic of conversation.
