@Ranza123 I applied for the second deadline and got accepted. My preference is to stay in NYC because I have a 5-year-old. I also picked regions on the East Coast. I hope to teach ECE or special education.
I was talking to my friend at lunch today telling her that Tulsa was in my top 5 preferences. She then proceeded to tell me how she couldn’t see me living there, and went into a story about how her high school music director used to live there and told them “stories” about Tulsa. (She didn’t go into much detail about said “stories.”)
Honestly, I don’t necessarily care where I end up- I preferenced my regions based on which ones need science teachers. I just can’t wait to find out where I’ll be spending the next two years of my life. It’ll be interesting to see if I’m placed in a region that doesn’t experience snow (or at least less than interior New England), because I’ve always lived in NH and now Western Mass.
Guys, tomorrow is the day we find out where we’re spending the next two years of our lives. EEK! So exciting!
TOMORROW!!!
One more day! I’m honestly so excited, and I know that I’ll be happy in any of my regions but I want to know!
@CatsAndMoreCats ugh literally ignore your friend. Anecdotes mean nothing; I’m sure there is someone who has hated every city out there. When researching regions with my parents, my dad was actually disappointed that Tulsa wasn’t on my list because he thought it looked so great! It didn’t line up with what I wanted to teach though. And I’m also interested about the weather for where I end up since I’ve gotten so used to the cold my whole life!
Ugh I’m so excited/nervous for tomorrow. It’ll make the whole thing feel so real!
Today is the day! I have already started refreshing my applicant center.
@Ranza123 I was thinking, alright, but you’re not the one who wants to live there. I’m the one who wants to live somewhere other than New England (although I did add Mass to my preference list).
Regardless of what my friend was telling me, we will all find out today where we are spending the next two years of or lives. I honestly could not be more nervous/excited at the same time. Life is happening, and I don’t know what to make of it. One of my friends is graduating this semester, and I still have a hard time believing that I’m almost done with college. Like, I had my last holiday Choral concert this past weekend and it was an emotional time for all of us seniors.
Anywho, I’ll quit the rambling, and continue to stress knit until our region/subject placements come out today!!
I got elementary in Tulsa!! Ahhh! My placement consultant texted me a few minutes ago congratulating me and didn’t know I hadn’t heard yet; I texted them back totally surprised. Then they checked and confirmed that official emails and applicant center notifications will be up around 5 PM central time for sure.
@CatsAndMoreCats I stress crochet. So. I feel you. Also, LIFE IS TOTALLY HAPPENING!
I’m still gonna be obsessively checking this thread ALL DAY til I get the official notification, and I want to see where you all end up!! WE DID IT, GUYS!
@tfa2o18 AHH! That’s so exciting! Maybe we’ll see each other in Tulsa? (I ranked it tied for #3 on my high preference list.)
My applicant center says an error was found! That means they’re being updated!
Normally a lurker, but I’m so nervous and excited! Especially since I know they are uploading now! I had a special circumstance to stay in Metro Atlanta but I hope they honor it!
mine says error too. eek!
Mine also says error found. Glad that’s what everyone else’s says. I was worried for a second!
@hrtotfa2018 I also had a pre-assignment circumstance for Metro ATL. Hopefully I’ll see ya there!
Me too. I feel like it helps that they knew about special circumstances before we even received our acceptances, but you never know!
Mine came up after my acceptance (a weird situation) so I’m not sure what’ll happen with my placement
Based on the first deadline, people found out about 30 minutes after someone posted that the applicant center was coming up with error. Soooo we are SO CLOSE!
Okay my homescreen for TFA says “CONGRATULATIONS!” and it’s having me fill out/answer a couple of questions… Strange, because I don’t see my subject/region.
Once you answer the questions, it tell you your assignment! Metro ATL secondary science!! All of my top prefs! Woohoo!
