@TFAViolet not sure! I’ve been looking at the codes for a while but I’ve never paid attention to the dates!
Mine does as well! I forget exactly but waiver, commitment statement, and placement were on there
For those who already interviewed, what were your lessons on, if you don’t mind sharing? I’m pretty certain I’m going to do a lesson geared towards elementary, since that’s what I’d prefer to teach if admitted.
@tfaonlyaccount Hey, friend! I did mine as a high school history lesson meant for a 9th grade level. I did mine on contextualizing historical sources. My interview was via webcam in a group and I had a powerpoint to go with my lesson. I also had a “checkpoint” where I interacted with people and briefly gave them a quiz question to check their understanding of what I was teaching.
@tfaonlyaccount Thank you so much! Rooting for you as well! Let me know if you have any questions about the interview process. I did a lesson on comma usage in sentences. I basically broke it down into mini lessons, tried to use funny examples, and then had my “student” correct a sentence after I gave the mini lesson as a checkpoint. I used a PowerPoint as mine was virtual as well. I’d check out r/teachforamerica on Reddit. They have some lesson ideas in some of the recent posts!
@TFAViolet Hi! I also have that code. I believe I’ve had it for awhile with the 2020-02-20 date. The only new code I’ve noticed recently is this one about the Assignment Decision. I don’t have it up in front of me right now, but it said “hidden” last I checked.
Good morning, everyone! Today is the day for us December applicants. I know my nerves are eating at me already, so I just wanted to say a few kind words in hopes they might help ease any worry anyone else may be feeling. TFA has a 15% acceptance rate, and they thought highly enough of us to invite us this far in the process. That is an accomplishment itself. Despite the decisions we get today, I’m confident that we all are going to do wonderful things in life as educators or otherwise. Wishing you all the best!
Has anyone in the December cycle received the survey yet?
@tfarican20 I didn’t receive a survey but my recruiter sent me a very detailed message asking about my interview, why I would hesitate to join and what I would be most excited about.
What is the survey about?
From what I recall, the survey asks about your application and interview experience.
I have not received a survey yet.
Hi guys! Check your portals! Decisions are posted for me! I got in!!
Hi everyone, decisions are available in the portal. I got in, New Orleans. Had my heart set on NYC, so not entirely sure if I will accept or not, but still very exciting
@tfarican20 Congrats on getting in! Sorry it wasn’t your first choice, though. I got into Greater Delta, which was my 5th choice. I believe you can request reassignment.
Thank you @futureteach2k20 and congratulations to you too! Funny Nola was my 5th choice as well. I’m going to look into reassignment, but I might still join.
Congratulations! I was also accepted. I will be in Los Angeles!!
I got in too!! I got my first choice Chicago!
Congrats to everyone who got in!! I got assigned to D.C., hit me up if you’re in the area
Assigned high school history in NYC!
Just noticed I have special education k-12 listed next to my history assignment.
I am not super stoked with this because I do not feel as though I have the background to be able to teach special education nor is it something I am passionate about (despite how important it is). Did anyone else get that listed next to their assignment? Can I explain this to my corps? Any suggestions?
