At my school many of the students are having there teachers edit there essays and i do not think that i would feel comfortable with any teacher to let them edit and read my essay. So i was wondering if you are having a teacher read and edit your essay? If not who are you having edit it? I am thinking of just having myself edit because i do not think i am comfortable with anyone enough to have them read my essay.

Bad idea!!!
A quick example...my mom and I made programs for an event....we quadruple checked everything by ourselves and you know what, the date was wrong!

moral of the story: It's best o have someone else edit it. I'm going to have several members of my family, a few adults and teacehrs outsideof my school, as wellas my former english teachers. I can understand if you don't feel comfortable...many essays are truly personal, but you NEED for others to read it. And not just family....they can't help but be biased, find someone with a more objective view

We have college counselors at my school read them and provide feedback since they're experienced with the admission process. If you don't have college counselors, you can look for a tutor or something outside your school. Your English teacher could probably edit for grammar/spelling mistakes, but if you don't feel comfortable with her reading it, have a family member read it.

I'm having my college counselor and a tutor edit my essays. My teachers are swamped enough with recommendations and schoolwork!
