Teacher Rec Dilemma

I am a current high school junior planning to apply to Georgetown NHS. This school requires your recommendation to be done by a science or math teacher (from junior/senior year). Unfortunately, I attend a large public high school where math and science courses are typically 40+ students and taught in a lecture fashion. So I have two choices.

Junior Year Pre-Calc Teacher:
(Pros) Tough teacher who I respected, Liked me, Willing to write me a rec
(Cons) Got a B+ in her class (~is that bad?), Math teacher with terse personality so I assume her writing may not be too descriptive, Large class first semester so may not say much more than "turned in homework on time, good attendance, nice girl"

Senior Year I am planning to take AP Bio:
(Pros) I'm a beast at biology :p, More vocal in science classes (vs math), AP Classes are small
(Cons) I don't know who the teacher is, I haven't taken the class yet, The Rec will need to be written DURING the school year- which may cause a problem in quality

So what do I go for?
-The impersonal math teacher
-Unknown AP Bio rec

Should I have the math teacher start writing a rec sometime over the summer?
Or should I wait and weigh my options?
Help!

I’d go with the math teacher. You never know what you are going to get re: teachers next year.

Maybe try to provide her with a resume / supplement about yourself so that it is more personal and she can learn about you outside of class?

Definitely give her some time over the summer, even if she isn’t going to write it right then. Don’t spring it on her.

Yea ask her for like a “interview” to get to know you better.
