I'm applying to a couple schools that require not only a math/science teacher rec, but also humanities rec. I doubled up on English last year by taking one class online, so that I can take more math/science classes (my main interest) this year. Basically, I've got a few teachers in mind for the humanities but was hoping for some input from you guys on which you think would be better to pick. I think both are kind of a gamble.

Teacher A
Sophomore spanish teacher. I really respected this teacher and the way that she taught our class. She wrote a recommendation for an internship sophomore year and it was absolutely glowing. I would love to ask her to fill out another recommendation form, but I'm afraid because I haven't talked to her in about a year because of some class scheduling issues.

Basically, she nominated me for the special "really hard to get into" Spanish III class. I was excited until I found out it would conflict with Calculus and needed to choose. I ended up choosing calculus and sent a polite email when I found out (mid-August) and expressed that I was very disappointed I wouldn't be able to take her class because of the conflict, but hoped that somebody on the waiting list would be able to take my spot. She sent a few emails about all of the benefits of her class, but there was literally nothing I could do to change the conflict.

Basically, I'm afraid that she won't write a very good rec because of the scheduling conflict I had with her class this year. However, she is a responsible teacher and one of my favorites during high school, so it might be worth the gamble. Do you guys think so too?

Teacher B
I got along really well with this teacher of my online English class. The theme centered around one of my main humanities interests and as a result, I put tons of effort into everything I composed. She often wrote back with comments like "outstanding" and I got straight A's on all papers that I turned in. I've saved all of my work from her class (with her comments) and was thinking of emailing some papers to her, if this would help refresh her memory (its been a little while since I took her class). However, this was an online class and I'm not sure if she really knows me as a person. She does know about the work I turned in.

Basically, I'm a little "stuck" on who to pick. I have math/science teachers that asked to write recs for me this year, but not so much for humanities. I have taken limited humanities classes during high school in order to load up on math/science.

Thanks in advance for any help! :)
