I looked around the UR website for what they required and realized that a teacher recommendation was not one of the listed items & it wasn't even mentioned in their FAQ. Does that mean they prefer that you not send one?

When I asked my regional admissions counselor, she said that if I felt a rec would add something to my application that was not already evident, then to send it, but not to send any more than two at the very most.

wait....UR doesn't need teachers' recommandation?
srs?
bad feeling

The only recommendation letter actually required is one from your guidance counselor (or similar figure). I think it was the same way when I applied last year, but I also sent in a teacher rec. I would send one anyway, especially if it's really good; it can't hurt.

KellieBM is correct. Teacher recs are not required but they are certainly welcome in reasonable numbers. Most counselors do a very thorough job of recommending you with appropriate information that is very helpful in our deliberations. If you feel you would like other voices in the conversation, feel free to submit a teacher rec or two. Most applicants do.

is it ok if I send in four
2 from China, 1 from guidance counselor, and 1 from current high school....
I mean....it won't hurt right?

small, twice in this thread, it's been mentioned (once directly by an admissions officer and once indirectly by a poster referencing a conversation with an admissions officer) that no more than two or three (one guidance, two teachers) should be submitted. I think it could hurt if you sent four given what's above, so perhaps you should only submit one from China.

sorry...but thx for answering
