teacher recommendation question...

I haven't exactly had the best experience with math/sci. teachers during my years in school, although I have gotten all A's and excelled in the classes, I just do not trust them to write recommendations mainly because most were lazy and I don't know if they would even write them in any reasonable amount of time

Oh the other hand, i had a phenomenal English teacher, so I went to her for my recommendation for Michigan.

Since I'm applying for the school of engineering, does this hurt my chances choosing a teacher not in a math/sci field?

Thanks for help

no, my social studies teacher wrote my rec. i got accepted to Michigan engineering. it's the quality of the letter...not the subject that teacher teaches matters.
