Hey all, I applied to Tulane, UVA, UNC, Boston College, BU, Brown, Duke, etc… but I have quite a problem
I live in South Carolina and I dual enroll. Many of my classes are just lectures in which teachers do not even get to know the students. One teacher who did know me really well and liked me wrote my letter, and I saw it… it was rough… She spelled my last name wrong, messed up some spacing, and even included “if you have any questions about HIS qualifications…”
and i am a GIRL!!! She did say pretty nice things, but it was super generic (which is dissapointing because she literally loved me so much)! But maybe it is excusable because it was a Spanish teacher who obviously doesn’t have the best English??
The other letter i got was from a teacher who honestly did not know me very well. It was a math class so all she knew was that I am really good at math and am friendly. I am sure she wrote a well composed letter with no typos or anything, but I feel that it will also be pretty generic.
Other than these, I have great grades, decent scores, ecs, community service blablabla. But do you think this situation will serve as a detriment to me? I am fearing a whole pile of rejections because of the letters and the fact that I dual enroll (dual enrollment is not the hardest option, id say its the second to hardest route). For the first 2 yrs of high school I took the hardest class options (not dual enrolled) and got all As… sooo I feel a little confused
