Teacher Recommendations

Ok, while I am aware that school forms may be submitted after the deadline, I still would like some advice on this:

I think one of my teachers is having problem submitting their recommendation on common app. Even though I invited them months ago and have periodically sent reminder notifications, they are still listed as "not started". When I asked them over these past few months, they assured me that everything was going fine. Students who have asked this teacher for recs have experienced similar problems; apparently the teacher has trouble submitting on commonapp. I have no real way of knowing for sure that this is the case for me, as they haven't yet answered any of my emails...

Yet, I'm pretty sure this teacher wrote a superior letter to my second teacher, who had no problems submitting to commonapp. At the same time, I'm considering replacing this teacher with the second teacher for the schools that require only one recommendation, because the second teacher has already submitted theirs.

My question: how long should I wait before I do this?

My deadlines: 1/1, 1/2, and 1/15.

Other questions
-Could I still change my teacher recommendations for schools that I've already sent my commonapp to?
-How late can these school forms be submitted?
-Should I just snail mail my teacher's recommendations, even though they were already listed on commonapp?

I'm at my wit's end here. Any advice?

Happy New Years!

Bump…

i think it’s a complicated (and eff’d up) situation where you have to decide for yourself. i’d prolly call the schools first thing tmrw morning to see what they think.

I don’t believe you can.

I had a teacher who was having problems submitted the rec, so she submitted it to my schools via snail mail. Shows up as incomplete online but they still got to the schools just fine.

Trashman- It’s New Years Day. I doubt anyone will be there to answer. I’ll still give it a try, though.

Secret Asian Man- Yes, I realize that now. Heh. Thanks, though. How did you know that the schools received it? Did you call them to make sure? Did you send it with a return receipt? Or did you find out upon your acceptance?

Haps New Year, all.

Actually, I figured Chicago would tell me if they were missing something. Then I got the acceptance six weeks later :)

Not the smartest way to go about it though haha, it’s probably best to call and make sure (once their offices are open again).
