How do most transfers get their teacher recs? Do u tell the teachers the schools you're interested in and they mail them, or can they just give you a certain number of letters and you can mail them yourself? Also, is it possible for the teacher to simply email you the letter and you can print the number of copies you need and send them? Thanks for any help on this topic!

Some schools require a form to be filled out with the rec by the teacher - that requires them to send them and it also is a confidentiality thing which a lot of common app schools do - meaning that you give up or dont give up the right to see the letter if you are admitted. Idk if that will affect the decision if you say you dont give it up or what.

Most teachers send them on their own - if they for some reason give it to you - make sure that the envelope has the schools return address on it - otherwise it seems as if you doctored the letter - which for most schools will be considered a breach of contract which you sign by submitting the app and will make your app null and void losing any chance of ever getting in there.

with that said - make sure you know the teachers, they are comfortable with you, and know you fairly well and can write the best recs possible. I chose ones that i could joke around with and did very well in his class - A in his calc class, went to office hours, joked around with and knew he respected me and my reasons to transfer and he knew i respected him - Make sure you attend all their classes and are involved in classes - brown nose is the best way to do it...

Brown nosing is NOT the best way. Being sincere, kind, and grateful is. That said, print one copy for each recommender and give each of them an addressed, stamped, large envelope so they can mail it off.
