"If you are applying to SEAS, Teacher Report A must come from your mathematics teacher"
says the application info booklet.

from Teacher form A: "please give this form to a teacher who knows you well" ...."(this form must be competed by your math teacher)."

a few questions:
-does this mean they want a rec from your current math teacher -- if so, it is very likely that he/she does not know you well.

-does it have to be a math teacher? I'm getting my rec from a computer science teacher that I've had for 3 years.

My brother applied two years ago with a rec from a CS teacher and got in. I'm pretty sure it won't be a problem but they might have changed their rules or something.

I think you'd be OK if you think you'll get the best rec from the CS teacher, as compared to the math teacher. Other people on here have reported the same thing as what your brother did.

thanks for the quick response
the phrase "your math teacher" was confusing - it seems to imply current math teacher - that's why I asked

Besides, the next best alternative is a math teacher i've had for one course over two terms -- in comparison I've had the CS teacher for 4 courses over 6 terms

Is there a difinative answer to this - seems like they want the math teacher - have you heard this from them directly or an opinion... just want to know if I should scrambe tomorrow....
