oh my god. i knew it was going to happen.
my teacher’s rec. just came back from the post office (after one month and after the deadline)
now I got new-everything and ready to send off this stuffs…
but should i let schools know something about this? cuz all the deadline was Jan 3rd.
or would 2-3 days delay be kinda… acceptable???
Thank you.

I think if you put the existing envelope in another envelope to show that it was returned by the post office and include a letter of explanation it would be fine. Remember - there is so much mail at this time of the year they probably won't notice and as long as you got your app in on time your good.

Most likely won't matter unless this is a huge public school (and even then, it probably won't).

They are lenient on the deadline for teacher recs. Just sending it in should be fine, but if you want, include a short note of apology/explanation. I think that including the original envelope is really unnecessary.

Adcom offices are probably neck deep in application envelopes, slowly digging themselves out. Sending it in now would be just fine--the deadlines are mostly for the applicant part of the paperwork. After all you paperwork is processed, the schools will probably let you know if any piece is missing and give you a chance to get it in--so I wouldn't worry about this teacher rec. Just send it in now.

wow, why didn't it go through, no postage or something?
