Technical Difficults and a question

I cannot access the online admissions process for some reason. I can edit my profile but when i click on admissions, it says there's a connection problem. On other computers/internet connections, it doesn't even connect, or doesn't even show anything, leaving the USC top but a blank middle and bottom.

I really want to do my application before Dec 1st for the scholarship considerations. I've sent an email to the undergrad office and everything but doesn't anyone have a solution or an idea?

Also, for the Part II of the application, the part we need to submit to be considered scholarship student is the essay and the application with info right? Not our recommendation letter or transcript?

I can’t help you with the tewchnical difficulty other than to suggest you shut down and re-start.

To be considered for scholarships you must apply by December 1st. To apply to USC you need to submit a part 2 application, SAT or ACT scores, all transcripts, and pay the application fee. In other words, YES, you need to submit your recommendation letter(s) and transcripts by December 1st for your application to be complete.

My guess is the USC application web site is being overloaded so it is either not responding or responding partially.

S tried to check his submitted app status Sunday night and it was very slow. Every click took a long time. S’s friend called last night freaking out saying that her computer is not working. She couldn’t get connection to the USC app site and wanted to come over to our house to finish her app. S tried for her and told her that we have the same problem at our house.

I don’t know about USC but UC app web site is known to crash close to 11/30 due to overload.

alamemom,
Do you have web link or sources about the scholarship deadline?

Everything I heard and read says that application must be submitted by 12/1. Everything else can come a little later (test scores, transcript, letter of recommendation) but not too much later.

[Dates & Deadlines - USC Undergraduate Admission](http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/apply/dates_deadlines.html)

Because of the volume of applications and the time it takes to sort through all of the supplemental materials, recommendations/test scores/transcripts received a week or so late arrive in time to be sorted with the last of the documents. It would probably be fine. The scholarship consideration process is so fast - they will be sending out admission packets the last week of January - I would not want to take the chance that when they got to your application it was set aside because it wasn’t complete.

Thanks, alamemom.

I been through so many web sites and forums. It is hard to keep everything straight sometimes. So it does sound like that everything can arrive a little bit later.

S requested his test scores, transcript, LOR over a month ago. According to College Board web site, test scores were sent early this month. His high school is slow (certainly a very busy time for them as well) so no idea if anything is sent yet. But he should be fine. I better have him check with his friends (regulars at our house).

Unofficial transcripts can be FAXed if necessary, and like the unofficial SAT scores, can be used for scholarship consideration and verified later. Even the LOR can be FAXed if it comes from the school’s FAX machine.
