Telebears waitlist question.

I'm a freshman and I waitlisted Psych 2 during phase 2. The class is junior/senior priority and the instructor recently sent an e-mail saying that all reserved jr/sr seats are filled, and the list is automatically processed. I'm confused how many people get added each weekend.. I was number 54 a few weeks ago, then 34 for 2 weeks. There are still 30 empty spots, but I'm not moving up. What's happening?

Okay. It’s been another weekend and I still haven’t moved up. I’m starting to think that those 30 empty seats are actually still reserved seats. I’m position 32 on the wait list. Will I get in? Do you think more people will add during adjustment period?

"This course has no restrictions at the coursewide level.
Seats have been reserved for:

Instructor Approval; a Class Entry Code is required to enroll in these seats. (Open)
Students with a class level of Junior or Senior (Full)
Open seating (Full)"

Here’s your answer: the empty seats are CEC seats, which is why the waitlist isn’t moving. Sorry :frowning: http://infobears.berkeley.edu:3400/osc/?_InField1=RESTRIC&_InField2=73899&_InField3=13B4

Oh… That makes sense. So, is the professor likely to give out the CEC on the first day of class? How will it work…? Will it still be based on the wait list?

I have no idea, honestly. He’ll probably explain it during the first class meeting. You could also email and ask. The advantage/problem of CECs is that they are completely at the instructor’s discretion. Great if you have a good relationship with the prof and can talk your way into it… not so great if you don’t.
