Fair point on the name, but even the cite to Chuck Jones’ website says that they there are virtually the same character with nose and eyecolor being different, and Ralph not having the “egotistical bearing” or “upper-class accent” of Wile E. Coyote.

Apparently he only spoke outside of the Road Runner cartoons… A lot of people tend to forget that Wile E. Coyote actually did talk in Looney Tunes, but only in cartoons with Bugs Bunny . He also was indeed voiced by the legendary Mel Blanc. This was from the short Operation Rabbit, directed by Chuck Jones.
I am not able to let this go (and I am trying to avoid doing yard work for a few minutes more): Wile E. Coyote and Ralph Wolf ARE the same!
Indeed, I came across a Twitter thread posing the question, “How old were you when you realized Wile E. Coyote and Ralph Wolf were not the same?” Well, for me, it’s well-documented on CC that it was at the tender age of XX that my long-held/never-questioned belief came to an end.
