I just got into Wisconsin Madison, and since we have residency in MN, I get in-state tuiton, so Madison is looking very attractive..

Current and former students, parents, residents of madison, anyone.. tell me things about wisconsin-madison that i will not find out from brochures and websites.. (I will probably not be able to visit)

ALso, any prospective student that has visited.. what was your experience like?

If you read through the files here it will give you a decent overview.

archdelux, if I were you, I would definitely visit UW-Madison. I don't see why you can't visit UW-Madison when you live in MN. (correct me if you only have residency in MN and live somewhere else.)

Actually, we don't live in MN. My dad has an apartment there becasue he is commuting from Minneapolis this year.. I live in Austin, Texas..

I used to live in Madison. I absolutely loved it. The city is awesome. Very diverse, liberal, friendly... very livable. Well, the west side/university side anyway. Usually ranks as one of the top cities in the US. The campus is huge! With tons of people. It's great because there's a very lively social life there. UW is known as a party school. Academically speaking, I would say it's pretty good. It has a great rep for research. Lots of graduate students. Undergrad.. classes tend to be big, you will find your very very bright students but there are also the people who are less smart. Overall, UW is a great school and I would definitely go there!

same posts in 3 threads..
