disappointed with my score.

I probably shouldn’t come to the CC SAT forums, I keep forgetting that the “1%” of the HS academic world come here. -/inferior-

To be serious, though, I’m happy with my first attempt. I know I can do better in Writing, and I think I can improve Math as well with some studying. I got an 800 in CR which makes me really happy.

Totally ashamed on my 1790 after thinking I did so well and almost everyone I know did wayy better

If you’re studying, your scores will probably go up, so you ought to be confidant going into the test! Just persevere. That’s a solid, solid essay, though; well done!

I guess I should probably answer the original post’s question, as well.

My essay prompt was about retaining mistakes and that stuff. I wrote about Hermann Hesse’s Siddhartha, the Allied raid on Dieppe in WWII, and one other pro-retention example (probably Edison or something) and one counter-argument I’m forgetting.

Oh and just a side note…for the people who worry about essay examples, etc. I wrote about random, non-historical, non-literary topics and got an 11. Write what you know. Good job to everyone. Your scores are great and those who are disappointed should know that it’s very possible to make dramatic strides on this test.

Now onto SAT II’s and AP tests. These seniors getting into great colleges around this time inspire me to just plug through and keep the big picture in mind.

I admire everyone haha

710 CR - woo-hoo!
590 M - up 30 but still not good enough
670 W with a 10 on the essay. Up 30
So a total of 1970. Really want to go over 2000. Putting the
SAT aside and studying for APs

I planned for, no joke, 10 or 15 of the 25 minutes, because I had SO much trouble coming up with serviceable examples. Frankly, I’m shocked they could read my writing. I’m usually very bad at making up examples on the fly, so I just stick with literary and historical examples. Siddhartha fit the prompt really well though. Glad to see someone else used it to success!

800 math
690 writing (10 essay, 66 MC)
610 reading…

And a whole lot of pain…

If anyone cares, today I got the SAS and a got 2 wrong in CR (800) and 1 wrong in math (780). Seems that the curve is perfectly normal! If anyone wants to know # of questions that were e/m/h, algebra/trig/etc., or anything else other than the actual questions, feel free to pm me.

My score report says there were 4 hard geometry problems and I missed one of them. Do you happen to know or remember any of them?
