<p>No. While the TASS focuses on/emphasizes minorities [heck, even the topics have to do with certain minority races], you won’t be rejected simply because of your race. Most/All people in TASS are generally minorities, though, from what I’ve heard.</p>

So yea, hi guys. By the way, if we put a huge amount of books on the book list, does that guarantee the individual a higher chance of getting in? I’ve only put 10 books, but they are a mixture of languages, so I’m hoping that that is taken into consideration.</p>

<p>I don’t think putting more books will be that beneficial. They want to see the stuff that you are interested in and what is meaningful to you. It shouldn’t be a list of everything you have read. </p>
<p>I believe that the second round is just an interview.</p>
<p>I just read earlier today that you get grilled by 2-6 interviewers at the same time, they pick apart your essays, and you have to defend your viewpoints.</p>

<p>Guess starting two days before the due date doesn’t work for TASP, although it almost worked for me in TASS (I started the same day, made it to the interview round o: )…</p>

<p>I am currently extremely nervous as well. If we get our finalist results back on March 1st, as they were released last year, will decisions come out by mail, email, or phone?</p>

<p>They do send out finalist results by email, at least that’s what they’ve always done</p>

<p>I thought it was coming out at the very end of March, so if it comes out earlier, that will be a pleasant surprise. I’m pretty sure I have no chance, though. I’m usually a pretty good writer, but at least 2 of the essays I wrote were awful, and the other ones weren’t great… Good luck to everybody! </p>
<p>BTW, I’m so nervous about the interview. Not getting through might almost be a relief since I know I will fail the interview badly…</p>
