Telluride Association Summer Program (TASP) 2013

its a 1-person tasp this year

Well, actually, from looking at last year’s thread, rejections and acceptances came at the same time. Unless they changed it this year, I think it may be random?

Yeah, that’s why I was confused… I don’t know why they would send them out separately when they haven’t done that in previous years. Maybe they are deciding as they go :P

I haven’t gotten any response back…

My mail always comes really late, so I’m not sure if it will come that way.

Does anyone know what’s going on with the notifications this year? Some people are getting things, others are not. No one from Tumblr, Facebook, or this site has gotten rejected I think. I’m just really confused. Does not receiving a notification mean you’re rejected? How long will the rest of us have to wait? I’m dying here.

Hm, maybe they are doing it differently this year and sending acceptances first?

Studen- how many people do you know that have been accepted. If its more than 2/3 it’s probably safe to say that they are accepting first and then rejecting later.

I believe 3 people on Tumblr have been accepted. If they really are sending rejections later, this is a really bad plan for notifications. I don’t think there are going to be anymore notifications today since it’s after 4 already. I guess I didn’t expect anything anyways, with a 6% acceptance rate and all.

Thanks to everyone who congratulated me:)
It is a little strange that more people havent heard anything, but remember that we are spread across time zones and regions. And even though I got notification through mail and email, they seemed to be coordinated to arrive close to each other (I received the email about an hour after the mail arrived).

I don’t know anyone else who applied in real life so I can’t offer much as far as anyone else finding info out.

I guess that settles it :(

Congratulations! TASP is just…wow. More than amazing  Do you mind me asking what time zone you are in? Because I am on the East coast and I’m still a nervous wreck.

It’s alright. I mean we completed so many essays and we should be proud of ourselves for applying. I’m happy I at least gave it a shot :)

Got my reply back- I got in! I got an email this afternoon (around 2ish) and the letter was in the mail when I got home. Good luck to everyone still waiting! And I’m on the east coast, if that means anything to those trying to figure out when they’ll get their replies.

I called about an hour ago and the woman who answered said that they were sending out notifications tomorrow as well (by email and snail mail)…I’m just so confused…

Welp, looks like it’s true and they’re sending rejections later. Ah well. C’est la vie, and all that.

Yeah I’m on the east coast too, about seven hours away from Ithaca. I’m definitely not on board yet with the idea that the acceptance are being sent out first, I think that people who got rejected just might take a little longer to tell us…we all really wanted it so rejection would be upsetting. I don’t know if we could expect the first thing they do to be telling CC they got rejected.

Smileykins- that’s kind of comforting :)

Thank you for calling!

But it is rather depressing that no one’s admitted to getting a rejection. That more than anything else makes me think they’re sending acceptances first.

Looks like someone was rejected?
