@valpak00per my son also was awarded President’s Scholarship. He has 1510 and 4.0 UW/ 4.78 W GPA. I wonder if they look at other things for scholarships like rank. rigor, ec’s and essay?
For those of you accepted with scholarships - where are you seeing this information?
Accepted to Nursing. 30 ACT 4.0 GPA
thank you! i had submitted my materials on 10/15 under rolling and ended up changing it on 11/1- i called them and they did it for me in 10 minutes
@s9841210 congrats! what are your stats/major?
My D was told today that they review applications in the order they were completed, and give decisions upon reading. She was also told the portal updates twice per day.
But… she also applied (completed app) before some of the decisions on this thread, so I’m not sure it’s as straightforward as the picture painted. Btw, they received over 5,000 EA apps (not sure about rolling, which is how my D applied).
@milgymfam I was wondering about this too, thanks for the info. I too think they must put them in some order by test score and gpa because my D completed her EA app mid October and hasn’t heard back either. There are others who applied later and have heard back and have had high scores. I wonder if 5,000 is a lot of apps for EA compared to recent years.
@cozminok, same. My D has a 31 and a 3.98 UW. I’m wondering if it’ll be more a matter of when they get down to the 31 rather than when they get to 9/18 (date her app was complete). I’m guessing it won’t be too long, but the rep did tell her it’s just a matter of before January 10th.
I was wondering if they review all of the EA apps before turning to the rolling apps? My son applied rolling in mid-October. Actually, since he applied to the music school I don’t even know if anyone will look at his application until he auditions in mid-February (by that point, I guess all of the merit aid will be gone?) He has a 34 ACT and 3.95 GPA.
I wonder if the Temple Option apps are done in a different order? My daughter submitted her application and Temple Option essays on 9/23, but the essays weren’t finished being reviewed until 10/26. So I’m not sure in what order her app will be assessed.
So I will hear about merit scholarships when I receive a letter in the mail? Is there any way to find out before then and do you know how long it take for you to receive a letter?
How long does it take to get an acceptance email after the portal changes?
@eh1234 I believe I read that they do EA before rolling
I have no clue how they do their admissions, but for reference (if it helps) my son applied 9/30 EA, 4.0 UW GPA, 1510 SAT, portal acceptance on 11/7, portal updated on 11/9 with 2 letters, one admission letter with scholarship info, one honors college letter. acceptance packet came in the mail today, 11/13, no letter in the packet, just general info on accepted students day, things to do on campus, a map, etc. No email received to date.
Accepted 27 ACT, 1260 SAT, alot of volunteer and AP, 95 weighted avg. No letter of merit yet…
@My3Daughters it makes you wonder the point of having rolling decisions if they won’t consider the applications as they come. Wouldn’t EA and regular make more sense in that case? The whole process is frustrating all around (not just Temple).
@MOMOFMAM would you mind sharing when the app was submitted and if it was EA or rolling decision?
My daughter applied EA on 10/5 - Fox school/Legal Studies, OOS (North Carolina), 29 ACT, 4.1 GPA, 5 AP classes. Lots of extra curricular activities and a part time job. She was accepted sometime yesterday. I checked the portal in the morning and there was no change. She called me last night at 8pm to say it said admitted. No letter yet though.
Applied EA 10/21
My D was told this morning (after seeking clarification) that rolling admissions apps won’t hear back until 6-8 weeks after EA closes out on January 10th. I would assume that most scholarship monies will be exhausted by that point. I believe my D will withdrawal her application, unfortunately.
