I'm planning to majoring in Film . I want to learn the aspects of filmmaking. I got admission in Drexel and Temple University . Can you tell me which of these university has a better film major??

Did you put the cart before the horse? Did you research the programs before applying to the schools? Did either school require a portfolio?

I don’t know much about either program but I don’t see a problem with either. They both offer classes in theory and production and opportunities for internships. Have you visited at all? If I were you, I would visit each department, sit in on classes and talk to students and teachers. That should help you decide which is right for you.

Both Universities have the programs.Drexel University Program called Film/Video and Temple’s Program Film and Media Arts. Both college do not require portfolio to get in

The portfolio is important to me. I know it’s not essential but I just feel that a robust program will demand a base level of talent for entry. The reason is that many classes will have to start a very basic level and will progress more slowly because it’s challenging for gifted students to get the attention and focus and challenge they need if a lot of less advanced students are in the same classes.

Only you know your current skill level but consider that. I would suggest looking at UArts if you have a solid portfolio already. They have rolling admissions so it’s not too late to apply.

Philadelphia College is solid also.

Overall, I like Temple and Drexel. Drexel is in better neighborhood than Temple. Temple has a lot better price if you are in state or out of state.
