Hey Roknroll,
I’m a Drexel undergrad but my best friend from high school went to Temple, so I think I can give a pretty adequate two cents. Honestly, the best advice I can give you is to choose which school you think would be a better environment for you. I don’t know much about either university’s film program, but here’s (from what I’ve seen) the two main differences between Temple and Drexel in terms of the general undergraduate experience.

1) Greek Life. Fraternities and Sororities are much more prevalent at Temple than they are at Drexel. Temple, in general, has more partying and it’s definitely a bigger part of the culture at Temple than in Drexel’s culture. That being said, I wouldn’t say Drexel is lacking in those aspects. But Drexel’s reputation isn’t as a party school, and I think that’s for good reason.

2) Urban environment. While both schools are in Philly, Drexel is in University City, while Temple is in North Philly. University City is a bit quieter, safer, and slightly less urban than the area Temple is in. While both schools have very safe campuses, at Drexel, you’re able to walk blocks and blocks before you get into less-than-happy areas. At Temple, as I’m told, there are many bad areas not too far from campus. Drexel is also right next to uPenn and uSciences. The juxtaposition of these schools definitely makes University a pretty cool place to lie in.

Other than that, I don’t have much to add, other than this:
Don’t listen to anyone who says “Don’t go there, that schools got a bunch of international students / FOB’s”. Both schools are filled with international students. In my eyes, that’s a big plus for both schools, but again, that really depends on the person. Regardless, both schools are very similar in that aspect.

Honestly, if you can afford it, I think Drexel is an amazing place to be. That being said, because cost is a factor, I don’t think Temple would be at-all a bad choice either. Let me know if you have any other questions! Hopefully someone else will also be able to comment with their opinion which might be a little bit more conclusive.
