I'm currently a sophomore at my local community college. After I receive my associates I am transferring in the fall 2014 semester and really want to go to Temple. I received notice online on February 1st that I was accepted into the Fox School of Business for my major. It's now the 12th and I still have not received the physical letter in the mail. I have a 3.82 GPA 1750 SATS community service, multiple job experience, extra curricular's (multiple sports). I also want to apply for the Honors Schools. Could anyone who has transferred to temple tell me how much money in merit scholarships they received? I am out of state and need to get the tuition down as much as possible since I will most likely not receive any financial aid. Also along with the amount you received can you post your college GPA transferring in, high school gpa, sats and whether you are in or out of state? I'd like to know what kind of money I can be expecting from them. All my other schools have brought the tuition down significantly and I'm hoping Temple can do the same! Thanks!

I was interested in this answer because my nephew wants to transfer from community college to Temple at some point. Here’s what I found when I googled: " New transfer students are considered for academic scholarships ranging from $1,000 - $5,000 based on a review of previous college work and a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher. There is no separate application required." Not so good considering Temple gives a ton of money to incoming freshman based on good SAT and GPA scores.

Yea that’s what I read too. It’s really disappointing because of Temple’s reputation for offering so many merit scholarships to incoming freshman. What’s confusing is that I saw someone post on these forums that they applied as a transfer student to Temple and was offered $15,500 in merit. I’ve also seen other people say they were offered $7,500 and other amounts that were above the $5,000 cap the website says. Maybe that 1 to 5 thousand is for in staters? I know that temple’s merit packages for freshman offer different amounts for out of staters then it does instaters. The same package will offer 5,000 for instate but 10,000 for out of state. Let’s hope transfer scholarships work the same way!

If you don’t mind me asking, how long did it take for you to receive an admissions decision?

I applied and all my credentials needed were in received December 9th 2013. My fall transcripts were automatically sent to be updated once they were posted over winter break and they were received January 10th 2014. I received my decision online on February 1st. I just received my physical letter today February 18th. I’m not sure if updating my transcripts slowed the process because they had to reevaluate the application

oh okay, did they offer any scholarships? @TUOWL94
